MMFW June 2014, It's All About Men.
Kristina Ivanovic returns in the second issue of Carnival Magazine with yet another beautiful array of streetstyle photography, captured at Milan Fashion Week back in June 2014. She tells us of her hectic schedules and ever-multiplying creative projects, providing us with an insight into her streetstyle technique and process...
Tell us about yourself.
I grow up in Serbia, in a small town named Trstenik, where I finished high school. After high school I moved to Belgrade, the capital of Serbia where I finished three years of architecture. I then decided to move to Italy, Milan where I finished a Master of Science in architecture. Now I'm working so many things! I work in a showroom, I work as freelance architect with my team from Serbia, as a freelance photographer and journalist, and also I work at university as a tutor. All of my jobs are also my hobbies and I love them all! Besides, I don't have time to include one more just for fun and pleasure. My interests at the moment are to realise one project soon, about which I'm very excited.
Did you study photography or a related course?
I had a course at university but that's it. It was enough to make me completely fall in love with photography.
Tell us about your work.
Photography is not my full time profession, but my work is based on fashion. I think is pretty much normal if we include the fact that I live in Milan! Here, everything is fashion and fashion is everything. I choose street style photography because I think that is fashion reality. I shoot fashion weeks and fashion events, and when I'm not working on that kind of photography I'm doing my projects such as architecture, nature and conceptual photography. I wouldn't define my style because I don't have one, I just know what I do and don't like.
What do you love about photography?
That very moment when I chase the perfect moment.
Which photographers inspire your practice?
I love the work of Yvan Rodic, Caroline Blomst, Daniel Troyse and so many more. I really love all street style photographers. I know it's crazy!
What editorials are featuring in Issue 02 of Carnival Magazine?
Streetstyle at MMFW June 2014, It's All About Men.
Tell us about the featured photography.
Actually there is no concept, I just go out and start chasing. It's all spontaneous and it is all about moment. Before I go out on a shoot, I do a prayer for people to be awesome that day. They are usually during the fashion week so I don't have to prey a lot. I work everything alone, and when I finish editing the photos I just pass it to my friends, hear what they think and then I published everything. That's my routine.
