Innocent Rebel, Jennifer Zehl.
Jennifer Zehl is a young and ambitious photographer and graphic designer from Düsseldorf, Germany. She loves to work with natural light and interesting people within her photography, with a main focus on fashion and beauty editorials. Jennifer strives to emotionally connect to the viewer of her photography through her technique, with a beautiful balance of colour and fashion styling.
“Fashion photography has always fascinated me. I never thought I’d pursue this career path myself. I have always loved to photograph, but I only did it for fun – until I started university. I am not working full time as a photographer… yet. I use every day to fulfill my dream.”
“I love beautiful people. They fascinate and inspire me. Needless to say, ‘beauty is in the eye of the beholder’, but that is what’s so wonderful about photography. I can release my inner, my sight of the world and show it to everybody. Because of that the photography is something very intimate for me. Like a writer who discloses his deepest inner. For every shoot I develop my own concept, handle the whole styling by myself and discuss which hair and make-up suits. My shoots are mostly about strong, sensual and independent women who break through everyday life situations. My idol is, without doubt, Ellen von Unwerth. I am fascinated of the easiness of her work. It would be a great honour to work with her someday in the future.”
“For me, the ‘Carnival’ story, is the epitome of a perfect day. The sun is shining, a day out at the carnival, flirting and having fun. It was an awesome cooperation and one of my most beautiful shoots so far. The ‘Innocent Rebel’ and ‘The Second Face’ shows women with two sides. One seems to be very tough and strong because of her tattoos alongside the urban and cold environment, but her posing and the soft light makes her seem sensual and fragile. It is the total opposite with “The Second Face”. The model has a sad face and is in a romantic setting suddenly seems strong and confident because of her mask. I love to play with these kind of stylistic devices.”
