Kelly Jordan Collection, Jack Kindred Boothby.
Jack Kindred Boothby is a London based creative, an amateur photographer who is currently working full-time in fashion and costume production. Fascinated with manual photographic processes, Jack works creatively with film to develop unique and experimental photography. He enjoys creating a story about clothing and what it means to wear it, capturing a sense of identity and belonging that is evoked by our fashion decisions.
“Photography is something I enjoy playing with in my free time. I just shoot to have fun. I like experimenting with processes, just seeing what my camera can do. I aspire to the thought that photography is recording light, not vision.”
“I like playing with the film in the camera, doing multiple exposures, masking etc. Mostly I use a Pentax ME Super that was my dad’s mums, in fact he nearly threw it out and I stopped him! I was really inspired seeing an exhibition about Miroslav Tichý in New York. I love how he made his own cameras, something I’ve tried to do a couple of times, also I love how he drew his own frames around the images he really liked. It’s nice to see how much of the work of his hands goes into the photos - not just pressing the shutter. Being also a designer I find it interesting creating a story about clothing and what it means to wear it, the identity and belonging that comes from the ways we dress ourselves.”
