Violet, Diana Lapin.
Diana Lapin was born in Bielsko-Biala, Poland. Working across Europe, her work in the field focuses on the communication of creative ideas, through mostly fashion editorials and portraiture photography.
“I began about 14 years ago. After 2 years in the field, I participated in my first exhibition. I began to work as a freelance photographer about 9 years ago but it has been my full time profession for the last 7. I was born a reportage photographer, going through eclecticism between reportage, portrait, geometric forms and fashion photos. It’s why it’s coolest for me to capture shootings outside. I think we can find inspiration in every kind of creation in the world.”
“Violet is about the portrayal of strong, modern woman in the city. The London model represents the warrior. A little abstract, cold - as the modern life. I took these in Milan, with my concept and styling and the help of agency Flash Model Management and team of creative young people. There is always a union of the moment with experience, with mood, with plans - all together - to get the new results every time. Why? Photography is a way of art that joins a creative element with more technical aspects. That, I love. I couldn’t be “only” artist or “only” technician. I love to create to express my mood, to share it with people and know impressions, interpretations. To learn - about the others and about me. I love to work with people and the best way is to take photos of people in some particular place.”
“By particular place, I don’t mean it should be strange or beautiful - sometimes it could be really awful but be perfect for some idea. I use Canon 5D and 6D, but I don’t think that changes much in terms of outcome. The true photographer is in the brain and in the heart. Obviously, camera equipment and specialist lenses help, but good photography is all in the talents of the photographer.”
